Most used products in 2017 - Cheeks

by - December 31, 2017

Moving onto part 2 of the series - Cheeks. This includes my most reached for contour, bronzer, blush and highlight products for the year of 2017 (cream, powder and liquid). Some of these are new releases and some are not. There are still 3 more posts to go for my most used products for this year but will most likely go into the next. Oh wells. I hope everyone has a great new year eve and happy new year.

Contour Palette

Kat Von D Beauty - Shade+Light Contour Palette

I originally had the box version. It did not look pretty since most of the logo came off. Literally looked like a black box. The newer version was sturdier but was not sold in Australia. Thankfully, I had a mate that was going on holiday to America. The shadows are magnetic and can be removed in this version. The powder was pigmented and very easy to blend.

Cream Contouring

Smashbox - Contour Stick Trio

Look how ugly they are. Especially the bronze stick. Anyways, these were very creamy and smooth. The highlight shade I didn't use as much. I mainly used the stick ones for precision such as nose contouring.

Shade in Laguna
Bronzer

NARS - Bronzing Powder

One of the few products I hit pan this year. Had a slight gold shimmer but wasn't noticeable when applied to the face. The pigmentation is quite light so you can go a bit heavy handed with this powder. Gave the face a nice warm glow or "sun kissed look", as some would say.

M.A.C. Blush shade in Warm Soul (left) and Anastasia Beverly Hills Blush Trio in Peachy Love (right)
Blush

M.A.C. - Mineralize Blush

I've only picked this up as I follow Patrick Ta and his work. This was one of my most used this year and has overtaken my other blush (NARS - Luster). Would recommend this for anyone with light to medium skin tone.

Blush Palette

Anastasia Beverly Hills - Blush Trio

I was so glad ABH released this blush palette. It is quite versatile as it can be used for light to dark skin tones and was very flattering. Even though they are matte, they did not look flat on the face. The shades from left to right are described as:

Nectarine - Dusty peach
Ginger - Toasted coral
Miami - Bright peach with gold sparkle

Shade in Orgasm
Liquid Blush

NARS - Liquid Blush

I was hoping Luster would be released in Australia but I guess it was limited to the U.S. Still a good product to use due to its blendability. A little goes a long way with this blush.

Strobe Cream in Pinklite
Cream Highlight

M.A.C. - Strobe Cream

This could be used under or on top of foundation. When used on top it did not move the product. It had more of a dew when applied to the skin. To better explain it, Victoria Secret Skin.

Left shade is in Mean Money and right shade is Hu$tla Baby
Powder Highlight

Fenty Beauty - Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter Duo

Did not use the left shade as much as the right shade. The duo comes in two different formula where one is more gel like and the other more powder. Hu$tla Baby was very flattering on my skin and did not emphasise any texture. The two shades are described as:

Mean Money - Soft Champagne Sheen
Hu$tla Baby - Peachy Champagne Shimmer
